Dust Free Floor Tile Removal Tools

The DustRam® chipping hammer attachment has the ability to capture dust from a 360 degree area around the unit while maximizing the blows of the chisel blade striking the tile. This allows for a cleaner removal of ceramic tile and makes it easier to remove difficult materials than if just strictly relying on the weight of the chipping hammer. The DustRam® chipping hammer attachment also speeds up the removal process as a powerful pry bar when removing flooring that comes off in larger pieces, stone tiles or even shower pans. By twisting the chipping hammer either to the left or the right, some tiles will often lift off the floor without having to activate the chisel blade. With the addition of the continuous vacuum suction that reduces the amount of dust entering the internal electrical components of the hammer and by decreasing the overall number of blade strikes required on a removal project, chipping hammers typically last longer and see less down time for repairs. Less time spent on removals and less money spent on repairs increases contractor’s profitability.

Other key components of the DustRam® System Equipment include specialized grinding shrouds for removal of the thinset mortar under the tile, glue adhesives, cutback, paints and epoxy coatings. When used with the vacuum attachments, the debris from these materials and the Crystalline Silica dust produced from the concrete subfloor are captured during the grinding process. The grinding shrouds are available in three configurations to allow for removal from both the field area (center) of floors and the edges. Two different heights of grinding shroud designs enable edging along baseboards and also beneath cabinetry, along the toe kicks and front of appliances. An array of custom designed blades is available with the DustRam® System Equipment for all types of material and surface grinding. Special blades have been designed to remove various types of paints and epoxies, multi-purpose, polymer and latex modified thinset mortar, sheet vinyl removal and even nail or staple removal in plywood subfloors. The DustRam® System is specialized tools, used with high performance modified vacuums, to assist in removing tile, travertine, saltillo, vinyl, wood, thinset, slate, stone, coatings and other types of floor coverings in both commercial buildings and residential homes with no dust or mess normally associated with most industry tools.

The DustRam® grinding wheel designs specifically address contractor concerns about speed of removal and the ability to profile the concrete, leaving a surface that is smoother and flatter than the day the subfloor was poured. This allows for an installation of new flooring that will take less time to install, look nicer and last much longer, results that benefit both the contractor and homeowner in value for the money spent.

Additional DustRam® System Equipment package tools include patent-pending designs for the cleanup and removal of all the flooring material debris. Typically a labor intensive, time-consuming process that has the potential to introduce a considerable amount of unwanted dust into the air, the vacuum assisted DustRam® System Equipment tools allow for cleanup to occur with the same ‘at the source’ dust capturing ability. According to Jack King, “If you drive by a home undergoing a flooring removal project and see wheel barrows and shovels being taken into the house by the crew, it is not going to be dust free.” Equipment packages are configured for the number of the crewmen using them, the typical square footage removal target, and type of flooring materials to be removed in the Contractor’s market area. Also included in the DustRam® System Equipment package is 3 Days of hands-on training for crew members using the equipment in both the proper tool operation and refined processes to ensure every job can be completed dust free. DustRam, LLC also provides assistance with internet marketing of new and existing contractors through their flagship web site and www.dustfreetileremoval.com.

The DustRam® System Equipment designed by Jack King is available for sale to contractors, re-modelers, property management companies and flooring installers in other states across the U.S. and Canada.
